About Us…

Games For Soldiers is a non-profit organization dedicated to sending entertainment items to deployed US troops the world over.  Primarily we send new and used videogames and videgame consoles, but also occasionally donate smaller games such as cards (many soldiers LOVE Spades, I assure you) and travel games that are easy to ship and easy to take around.

1. Why do you do this?

  • Well, the creator of the endeavor, Jesse Williams, is an Army Specialist with B Co., 1-158 Infantry Battalion out of Arizona.  During his 12-month deployment to Khost, Afghanistan he found himself making industry contacts and bringing in donations of games, movies and even consoles and gaming computers for his unit.  He found that the generosity of the entertainment sector businesses and individuals was amazing and that gifts of entertainment were very, very well received by his fellow troops.  In light of this, he decided upon returning home to try to continue this momentum for other troops deployed overseas.

2. Can I receive a tax deduction receipt from Games For Soldiers?

  • We are not currently a registered 501(c)(3) organization, so we cannot offer tax deductions for your contributions.  While we would love to do this, we are still working on our incorporation which must be done first.  If you are an accountant, lawyer or have experience in the field of incorporation and/or 501(c)(3) registration and would like to do some good pro bono work, please drop me a line at jesse@gamesforsoldiers.org.

3. Do you support only Army soldiers or other deployed US Forces as well?

  • We support all of our deployed forces.  Donations can go to any service member.  We primarily supply donations to troops in Afghanistan, as they seem to get left out compared to troops in Iraq.  We also primarily support Army soldiers simply because there are more of them.  We do not, however, discriminate against Marines, Sailors or Airmen.
